The Glencoe Historical Society will hold its Annual Meeting Nov. 17th at the former home of Helen and Bryron Sharpe, 600 N. Sheridan Road. The event will feature a fashion show showing clothing from the Helen Sharpe Collection as well as a gourmet dinner and silent auction.
The Sharpe Collection included 500 dresses and accessories donated to the historical society by the Sharpe Estate. After the collection was gone through, a hundred items were selected to be included in the permanent collection. The fashion show will feature some of the other dresses, not accessioned, that were donated. These include suits, dresses and coats accessorized with hats and purses.
The annual dinner always features gourmet food, this year catered by board members Vivian Zahniser and John Carothers. The Sharpe home has been graciously donated for our use by Debbie and Steven Dresner, current owners.
