Work on the Glencoe Historical Society’s Eklund Garden continues, entering Phase II, where new plant material is being added to the front portion along Park Avenue.
Fund raising in the Village has produced sufficient funds to enable implementation of Phase II of the Garden Renovation/Renewal Project, which is now scheduled to be completed by John Mariani from Mariani Landscaping in July. Currently on view in the garden are plants donated by the Glencoe Park District, as well as the full bloom of the traditionally beautiful irises along the Park Avenue fence.
New shrubs and flowering plants will be added in the work to be done from now through July. Residents are invited to enjoy the garden as well as watch the action as the garden is improved.
The Eklund History Center museum is now closed for the season, but tours and visits can be had by appointment. Call 847.835.0040.
